Celebrating Harry Potter
Harry Potter enthusiasts enjoyed an evening of spell-binding wizardry in celebration of the first Harry Potter book published twenty years ago.
Pupils impressed staff with the extent of their knowledge, by taking part in a herbology quiz and by identifying mysterious potions in jars.
The climax of the evening was the duelling matches between pupils, who used a set of fantastic wands made by the amazingly talented Ms Carroll from the Support Unit, to cast spells on each other.
Organised by school Librarian Ms Ball, the successful event confirmed Harry Potter books remain as popular as ever. Ms Ball said: “Thanks to everyone who came and for duelling with each other. I’m impressed by the breadth and depth of knowledge of Harry Potter, in the school. The books are still incredibly popular, all of the ones we have, are out on loan right now.”
