Students remember the First World War
Students joined History teachers Mr Urton, Mr Smith and Ms Tottingham in the school playground, to hear readings and hold two minutes silence, in remembrance of the First World War.
Commemorations continued with a showing of 'They Shall Not Grow Old’ a documentary made from reconstructed film footage of the Great War.
Earlier in the term, two Morpeth students were chosen to take part in the First World War Centenary Battlefield Tours, a national programme fully funded by government to teach students about the War and to mark its centenary.
During the four-day tour, Grace and Charlie walked across old battlefields and through reconstructed trenches, visited war cemeteries where soldiers killed in action are buried and paid tribute at memorials to fallen soldiers.
