Hundreds presented to VI unit

Staff and pupils from Morpeth’s unit for visually impaired (VI) pupils, said a big thank you to Waitrose representatives, at a presentation ceremony where they received a cheque for £304.00 from the supermarket’s Community Matters Fund.

The event was celebrated by exploring the Crossrail Place Roof Garden in Canary Wharf, which is an enclosed garden packed with exotic plants, and by eating lunch at the chicken restaurant, Nandos.

Pupils said they had a fantastic time. Among their many comments were: “This was the best trip ever” and “Can we go to Nandos every day?”

The money will be used to buy specialist equipment and school trips.
