SIXTH FORM ACADEMIC MENTORS
SIXTH FORM ACADEMIC MENTORS required from September 2017
Posts are full time (35 hours per week), term time only plus three weeks for 1 year
NJC Scale 4 £21,546 pro rata (actual monthly salary £1,656)
We are looking for 3 well qualified honours graduates to become Academic Mentors at this popular, fully inclusive 11-19 comprehensive school in Bethnal Green. You will support and challenge our sixth form students, helping them to become excellent independent learners.
Applicants need to be able to offer the following combination of subjects:
- Biology and Psychology or Biology and Health and Social Care
- Business and Economics
- Sociology, Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics) and Health and Social Care
You will need a high level of academic literacy, a good honours degree and A levels at B grade or above in all relevant subjects. You will be expected to help to supervise our study areas, ensuring that students are using their Supervised Study periods effectively and contribute to our sixth form enrichment programme. Applicants will have experience of working with young people and a belief in their ability to succeed.
Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 18th September, with interviews in the week beginning Monday 25th September. Successful candidates must abide by our Safeguarding Children policy and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
