SIXTH FORM ACADEMIC MENTORS required from September 2018
Posts are full time (35 hours per week), term time only + 3 weeks for 1 year
NJC Scale 4 £22,377 pro rata (actual monthly salary £1,719)
We are looking for highly qualified honours graduates to become Academic Mentors at this popular, fully inclusive 11-19 comprehensive school in Bethnal Green. You will support and challenge our sixth form students, helping them to become excellent independent learners.
Applicants need to be able to offer a combination of at least 2 of the following subjects:
- Film Studies
- Government and Politics
- Health and Social Care
- Media Studies
- Religious Studies (Philosophy and Ethics)
You will need a high level of academic literacy. You will be expected to help to supervise our study areas, ensuring that students are using their Supervised Study periods effectively, and to contribute to our sixth form enrichment programme. Applicants will have experience of working with young people and a belief in their ability to succeed.
Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 18th June, with interviews later that week. Successful candidates must abide by our Safeguarding Children policy and undergo an enhanced DBS check.
