Careers information is delivered through the school‘s CPSHEE (Citizenship, Personal,Social and Health, Economic Education) programme from Year 7 until Year 11 according to statutory requirements preparing pupils for post 16. Year 8 pupils experience an intensive one day Careers Exploration day ‘The Real Game‘. Year 9s prepare for Key Stage 4 and Year 10s/11s focus on Post 16 choices.

Making informed choices

Pupils visit Higher Education institutes, Careers fairs, work-related learning sessions and other events to enable them to make informed career choices. Year 9 pupils attend ‘Experience of Work‘ and Year 10 spend a half day at a local university and a local college. Morpeth Careers Fair is held every 2 years on the Tutor/Parent Day in the Autumn Term.

One to one guidance

Miranda Ellison and Celia Grieg are the personal advisers from Connexions. They work with pupils twice a week giving guidance and support. The Careers office is open at lunchtimes on a few week days for drop in sessions. Other school career resources are the Library,there are in house career computer programmes on the school network.
