Governing Body

The school’s governing board is responsible for deciding what the school’s vision will be and making strategic decisions to ensure the school achieves its aims.

Governors who sit on the board play a vital role in making sure every child receives the best possible education by holding school leaders to account. This means they must:

  • keep themselves informed of the latest objective data on pupil and teaching performance
  • be informed of the school’s finances; and
  • ask school leaders the right question to ensure resources are allocated to the school’s priorities.
