Learning Bridge and Claw chopping techniques
Year 7 pupils have been learning how to cut vegetables safely in Ms Obiji’s Food Technology class, using the Bridge and Claw chopping techniques.
The Bridge technique is when one hand is used to make a bridge over the vegetable or fruit with fingers on one side and thumb on the other.
The Claw technique involves curling the fingers and thumb of the non-knife hand and resting the tips of your fingers on top of the vegetable.
Pupils successfully applied their newly learnt skills to making delicious vegetable, tuna and pastas salads.
