Parent Governor election results

Shakila Ali and Abul Monsur Shahjahan have been elected unopposed, as Parent Governors to the Morpeth School governing body.

Two vacancies were available, only two nominations were received.

The governing board is responsible for deciding what the school’s vision will be and for making strategic decisions to ensure the school achieves its aims.

School governors play a vital role in making sure every child receives the best possible education, by holding school leaders to account. Governors are required to:

  • keep themselves informed of the latest objective data on pupil and teaching performance
  • be informed of the school’s finances
  • ask school leaders the right question to ensure resources are allocated to the school’s priorities.
